Electrical Assembly Technician

Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Manufacturing Technician to join our production team. This role is responsible for building electrical panels to UL508A standards and performing control systems assembly for automated die cutting machinery, as well as other hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong electro-mechanical aptitude and a passion for precision, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble and wire electrical panels and pneumatic components per UL508A and international standards.
- Interpret and work from both U.S. and European electrical schematics.
- Read and interpret hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams (preferred).
- Perform mechanical assembly using a variety of hand and power tools.
- Install and troubleshoot industrial automation systems, including Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, and Siemens PLCs and operator interfaces.
- Diagnose and maintain frequency drives, servo drives, and motors.
- Maintain compliance with all electrical codes and safety standards.
- Utilize Windows-based software for configuration, troubleshooting, and documentation.
- Maintain clean, organized workspaces in alignment with 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
- Communicate effectively with team members and leadership regarding project status and challenges.
- Demonstrate a proactive, solutions-focused mindset to meet production schedules and quality expectations.
- Exhibit a strong sense of urgency and ownership in all tasks.
- Travel domestically and internationally for machine installations and service support (up to 25%).
Required Qualifications:
- Technical degree in Industrial Electricity or completion of an accredited technical training program.
- Proven experience in panel building, machine wiring, and electro-mechanical systems assembly.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical assembly drawings.
- Skilled in using multi-meters and other diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and verify electrical systems.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must provide own basic hand tools.
- Valid driver’s license and eligibility for international travel (U.S. Passport required; assistance available if needed).
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as required by production schedules.
Preferred Attributes:
- Familiarity with UL508A standards and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with automation systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or 5S methodologies.
